First of all hi there, you thought I was dead huh? No I just don't draw much anymore so I lurk on here mostly...I'll maybe draw something eventually. Someday...
So I got the game, I was super excited. Because of Star Fox Zero coming out a lot more star for merch has come out and I made sure I got as much of it as possible. See exhibit A scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v…
(and also I forgot in that picture I also got a star fox poster showing the walker).
Anyways I played through the game and I was not disappointed. I'm very pleased with how this came out and I had a blast playing it, even if I suck at a lot of the bosses lol. Now I hear a lot of complaints though about the controls. Honestly they aren't that bad, it's something you have to get used to. It feels awkward at first but I was thrilled at having a challenge of learning something new. I think the controls really make this star fox game unique to the others, makes you feel like you're in the vehicles. The people playing it and complaining...it's only been 2 days, you're not going to be an expert, that's why there's training modes (which i recommend if you're having trouble with a vehicle). Personally I have problems with the walker, I just can't go in like a straight line, and sometime I'm too focused on moving that I forget to shoot enemies. Do I hate the walker because of this? No, I just need more practice. I'm better than when I first tried it out.
So when Command came out I was disappointed that there were multiple endings which were all believable (I guess lol) so I thought the series was pretty dead. As years went by and people looked for a new star fox, I honestly dreaded it, I didn't want there to be another one because of how the story was going. So there was Adventures, y'know fun but veryyyyyyy different, there was assualt, very very short, and then command, also different but leaves you with those endings. I thought whatever game they would throw out would follow in the trend of the story getting worse and worse. Yes I love these games but eh... BUT! Star Fox Zero, they did the smart thing and didn't continue the story, instead retold it. And I loved that fact, it was a chance to start fresh and new. And I think they pulled it off amazingly. Now I've only gone thru the main story route, I have more levels to do and I guess the true ending, but what I've seen has made the story work.
So yeah, I love the game and I can't wait to get better at it. The bosses and levels have challenge to it, especially if you don't know what you're doing, but it is fair. (Even though that ONE boss...grrrrr) But yeah I highly recommend it if you haven't gotten it yet. If you don't have a wii u, get one! There's enough decent games out now for one, you know you want toooo!!
I haven't played much of Star Fox Guard, but what little I did play was kinda stressful. I only wanted to try it to say I tried it, I'm honestly more interested in the main game, so @__@
